SCORING - APPEALS - PRIZES

                                      METHODS OF SCORING AND PLAY

1. Four Ball Match Play will be the format for matches. (U.S.G.A. Definition: see ‘Sides and Matches’ in rule book.)

2. Each player will receive full handicap and take strokes as they fall on
the scorecard figured from the lowest handicap in the foursome.

3. Eighteen-point scoring is used: 1 point for each hole won; 1/2 point for
each hole halved; 0 points for each hole lost.

4. Each team captain shall decide bracketing of players for her own team,
with at least one Team Member in each bracket. An exception is allowed
as noted under Team Play, item #3 above if a 3-person team is
being fielded.

5. If a player is late, the match shall proceed as scheduled and the late
player may join the play of the bracket at the beginning of any hole. If
both players in a bracket are more than five minutes late they shall lose
the holes missed to the opponent.

6. Between the play of two holes, a player shall not make any practice
stroke on or near the putting green of the hole last played. Penalty for breach of this rule is forfeiture of the hole.

7. The same applies to any player failing to pick up when out of the hole.
This also pertains to conceded putts.

8. Regardless of the weather forecast, all players should arrive on time
and be prepared to play in inclement weather. A club may cancel the
match in the morning if the Pro Shop determines the course is unplayable. All efforts will be made to notify Team Captains by 7:10AM. Any player should, if in doubt, call the Pro Shop.

9. If play has begun, team captains will decide postponement. When a
match is called before its conclusion and a rain date is not going to be
used because a significant number of holes have been completed, each
pairing will report their completed holes and the remaining holes will be
split evenly.

10.Unless a mutually acceptable alternate rain date can be agreed upon,
the scheduled rain date will be observed.

11. Ties: In case of a tie for 1st or 2nd place after the final match, two previously named team members from each of the tied teams will immediately begin a play-off. The play-off format is Sudden Death.

12. Disputes: Captains of the teams involved will settle disputes. The matter will be referred to a member of the Rules Committee only if an agreement cannot be reached.

13. At clubs where caddies are required, they are not permitted to read putts for anyone.

                                                     APPEALS

Protests not resolved on the day of a match or tournament must be filed in writing within 24 hours with the Captains and Delegates of the clubs involved. If not resolved at that level an appeal should be submitted within a further 24 hours to the Board of Appeals. Assistance should be sought as needed from the Rules Chair. The elected officers of the M-PG comprise the Appeals Board. The board has 48 hours to issue a ruling.

                                                        PRIZES

1. Division winners and runners-up will be determined by cumulative points at the end of the season of play.

2. One photo plaque, with the team photo and team member names, along with a cash reward, will be awarded to the First and Second Place teams in each division.

3. Names of winners of each division are engraved on the perpetual plaque for that division, and the winning club will keep the plaque for one year.

4. A team Member who fails to complete 50% of her matches will not be eligible for any award her team may win.
